Archinstall 3.0.9 menu-based installer for the Arch Linux distribution is now rolling out with various new features like the ability to set up a Bluetooth connection, as well as improvements and bug fixes.
New features in the Archinstall 3.0.9 Arch Linux installer release include an interface to change LUKS iteration time, Bluetooth support allowing you to set up a Bluetooth connection during installation, support for U2F authentication, and a --skip-boot
option to allow you to bypass the installation of a bootloader.
The new Archinstall release also adds support for installing the inotify-tools package along with grub-btrfs when using the GRUB bootloader with a Btrfs setup and adds missing xdg-user-dirs for user directories when installing Arch Linux with the COSMIC desktop environment.
Among other changes, Archinstall 3.0.9 fixes boot detection to use PartitionFlag.BOOT instead of mountpoint, migrates the Root Password menu into the Authentication menu, moves the Users menu into the Authentication submenu, and moves the audio configuration to the application configuration.
Furthermore, it updates the bootctl
command for the new --variables=
option, updates the documentation to also mention the --config-url
option, fixes circular bootloader dependency, fixes script documentation, fixes the application config field name, and simplifies the naming of several modules.
Of course, some internal bugs were squashed to make your Arch Linux installation better, so check out the release notes on the project’s GitHub page for more details about the changes included in Archinstall 3.0.9.
The new Archinstall version is already available in Arch Linux’s stable repositories and can be used immediately with the latest Arch Linux ISO snapshot upon updating it. However, you can also download the source tarball from the GitHub page linked above if you want to compile it from source.
